I am a 59 yr. old divorcee with three grown daughters. I have spent 30 years as a social worker/employment counsellor working with disenfranchized adults. I am semi-retired and persuing a secondary career and taking my certificate in Gemology so that I could work in the jewelry field and be more portable. I love nature, art and music. I have a great sense of humour and do creative writing and poetry as a sideline. Walking is part of my daily life and I am faithful to my routines of exercising. I love to go exploring at Winnipeg Beach in the summers and walk by the lake which is a tonic in itself. I volunteer at our local pound and have been a "foster parent" to many dogs through the Humane Society of Winnipeg. I am a sucker for strays but am limited where I live. I have two adorable grandchildren and family is very important to me. I am looking for a companion who also loves animals and enjoys walking throughout the seasons. It would be fun to have someone to chat with on these cold winter months or plan exotic trips in some warmer climates.

Sandy is a 12year old Coryx. male. He was a death row dog and he has been the best pet I have every had. He is getting blind and arthritic right now but still loves his walks. Sasha is my 1 yr. old Huskyxwhipet goofball with tons of energy. Mouse is my youngest female (2) feline and full of fun and learning the ropes under Pumpkin's critical eye - she is a 5 year old ginger female cat - who is the queen. She dislikes the dogs and not companionable - a one person pet. Still we co-habit very nicely in a small bungalow in an older residential part of Winnipeg.

My pets would say that I am a loyal, fun, generous and kind woman, who loves nature and being outdoors. She is very creative and curious about the world - but a stickler about clean floors!! and pets with manners.

All the pets in this household are accustomed to staying up late, so we are always looking for a walking mate for the afternoons or evenings. We walk 4Km a day, so stamina is important

Lost my little Chichuaua x Beagle last year when she died suddenly with heart failure. She was the best little watch dog I ever had and my old dog's companion for 5 years. She was 9 years old.
