| more about me: |
Incurable romantic trapped in a technological world. I
love music, reading, history, talking & listening,
nature, the environment/Ishmael & animals. I'm also
winsome, whimsical, sometimes impulsive, eccentric,
affectionate, playful, slightly quixotic, domestically
challenged, depressingly monogamous and a little
old-fashioned. I have a dry sense of humor that likes
to try to see the humorous side of anything. I enjoy
camping, theme parks, Renaissance re-creation,
dressing up (especially in Renaissance clothes!),
mountains & solitude. I'm not a TV person, but I do
like occasional movies. I love just about all types of
music. It can be a great mood elevator - if it's the
right music at the right time. Ultimately I guess
there is always Prozac but I haven't tried that yet -
music is less expensive and it's re-usable. Warning! -
I live with 6 cats - they are my child substitutes -
and I don't have to worry about putting them through
college or giving them the keys to the car. Someday
when I have more time I'll probably become the crazy
cat lady that all the neighborhood kids wonder about &
bedevil on Halloween. Everyone needs a career, even
after retirement! My goal in life is to retire early
to a big house on a large, wooded, secluded piece of
property by a lake with lots of wildlife, lots of
pets, several fireplaces & lots of books. With luck, I
can turn it into a preserve and take in abandoned
animals! I'm patiently waiting to win the lottery to
accomplish this. One can only hope that instead one
isn't living over a sewer grate in Port Authority
trying to persuade the cats to stick around & not all
pack their little bags . I love candlelit dinners with
soft music in the background. Or walking arm-in-arm
down a little village street or a park on a spring
day. Maybe strolling through a museum or an art
gallery or sitting in front of a warm fire on a cold
evening sipping a glass of mead while we listen to
quiet music in a darkened room. What do you like?

About My Pet(s) |
| |
| Pet(s): |
|
| Name(s): |
Khepre, Pagan, Wicca, Sejanus, Caligula, Kuan Yin |
| low down on my pet(s): |
Kuan-Yin, affectionately known as “The Princess”, is a
pedigree Tonkinese cat and is a real work of art. She
is so beautiful she actually causes a pang in my
heart. Have you ever noticed sometimes how a beautiful
thing can be almost painful to view? When I look at her
I feel a small, almost painful tug at my heart each
time. That DOESN’T stop her from living up to her
alternate, darker nickname of “Kitty Cujo” when she is
in a temper.
Wicca is a marmalade pound kitty and could stand to
lose a few pounds. She is definitely a pleasingly
plump female. Her nickname is PT – for Personal
Trainer. When I work out, part of my workout is on an
elliptical trainer, but I also do some floor
exercises. When I’m finished on the machine, Wicca
hightails it to the room and as soon as I lay down on
the floor, she starts – kitty fashion – to knead my
stomach. I’m not sure if this is acupressure, physical
therapy, or a form of tenderizer – she may just be
sizing me up for a meal.
Sejanus and Caligula are pound kitties and supposedly
litter-mates. They are gray tigers. I believe Sejanus
is a secret member of the kitty coalition that intends
to one day take over the world. I have reason to
believe this because each time the phone rings on my
fax machine upstairs, Sejanus races upstairs and
stands by the fax machine staring intently at the
papers coming out. I can only imagine he is waiting
for the fax that will give him the go-ahead to begin
the great revolution. I try to stay on his good side.
Caligula’s nickname is “Spider-Cat” and he, too, could
stand to lose a few pounds. He is rather a portly
gentleman. He got his nickname one day when I noticed
him sitting on top of the kitty condo, staring
intently at a spot on the wall that he obviously
thought was a spider. He was waiting for it to move.
Finally, he abandoned waiting in favor of action and
decided to attack. He launched himself, all four paws
extended, off the kitty condo to a spot several feet
up the wall. What he intended to do when he got there
is unclear to me. I have come to the conclusion that
he thought he would stick to the wall like velcro (or
like Spiderman) while he addressed himself to the
pseudo spider. Hence the name, Spider-Cat.
Khepre is a pedigree Bengal and has been nicknamed “El
Exigente” because he is very demanding. He's my little
familiar and follows me (or precedes me!) all around
the house to make sure I don't get lost. He knows I'm
blonde.
Pagan is a little black pedigree Bombay. She is quite
the lady and doesn’t let anyone forget it. But, then,
what can one expect from a Gemini. |
| my pet(s) would describe me as: |
Mom is the 7th cat, the one who works for a living to
support the rest of us. She keeps hoping, one day, one
of us will step up to the plate and volunteer to help
with this but so far, no takers - it's all we can do
just being house cats and looking after Mom. To this
end, though, she reads to us frequently from Puss In
Boots to give us what she hopes are broad hints. In
turn, we tell her that 1) Puss In Boots is a FAIRY
TALE and 2) It is almost impossible to get a good job
when we lack opposable thumbs. (sigh). She loves us
anyway. Mom may sound tough here, but in reality she
is a pushover for anything furry. And we don't think
she is REALLY serious about this job thing. She takes
VERY good care of us - feeds us first - even before
she eats - buys us toys and catnip, and plays with us
whenever we ask her to. We're proud of her - we
trained her very well and she was a fast learner. |

About My Date |
| |
|
I am a woman seeking a
man age
50 to
80 |
| for: |
activity partner |
casual dates |
friendship |
|
|
| my ideal date: |
In the main, looking for internet email friends, people
for friendly online chat, maybe a local activity
partner to go to Ren fairs, plays, movies, art
galleries, museums with, to start. Not yet "dating",
or "intimate encounters", or "marriage", just friends.
For other than on-line chat, NON-SMOKERS ONLY, please!
For those who have gotten this far and may want to go
beyond that, please read on. Where relationships are
concerned I have always been rather hopelessly
old-fashioned and preferred them to start slow and
build from friendship - so please, if you are not
willing to be just friends for a LITTLE while (we're
not talking YEARS here!), pass me by.(ahem) Also, you
must be able to put up with 6 cats. While I don't take
them with me when I go out no matter how much they beg,
we are pretty inseparable at home. You should be, if
not an animal lover, at least an animal tolerator! As
for that elusive IDEAL relationship, well,
relationships are like a box of chocolates - oops no,
wait a minute wrong explanation. If I knew with any
real degree of certainty what an ideal relationship
was I quite possibly wouldn't be without one! I'm
reasonably clear on what I DON'T want but the details
on what I do want are still a bit hazy. Maybe, one
day, we could build that ideal relationship together.
Ultimately, I'm looking for someone who is
intelligent, affectionate, witty and romantic, someone
who likes to play and doesn't take himself too
seriously. Someone who can be passionate one minute
and my best friend in the next. Someone who doesn't
mind getting cards and notes for no reason at all and
who maybe will send some himself. I'd like to find
someone who would enjoy going out to a museum or an
art gallery, having a picnic or going camping for the
weekend, taking in a play, staying home snuggling and
talking so we remember what we love about each other. |
