Hi, I have quite a few pets but I'm hoping that doesn't scare anyone on this site :). I would like to meet someone who understands my love of animals as well as the natural world. I'm employed as a scientist and live on a small ranch outside San Diego with dogs(4), cats(4) and horses(2) so biology and animals are a large part of my life. I'm relatively busy (I coordinate a dog breed rescue on my spare time) and independent, but I'm also very loyal and devoted once committed, and have reached an age where I realize relationships are about compromise and accomodation. I haven't given up on the idea of meeting my "best friend" some day who shares many of my interests and passions.

Tucker is a lab/weimaraner mix and is pictured with me at a humane society fundraiser. I adopted him from SD Humane 9 years ago and he is the most wonderful, loving, intelligent dog I've ever known. Max and Charlie are my 2 male english bulldogs whom I've rescued. Max had been left on a chain for two years before I took him in 6 years ago, and Charlie is a chronically ill little guy (who is in the other picture with me), with a weak immune system. They both are loving, laughable little clowns and I love that fact that they have a safe place with me until their time here is over. Hazel is my female bulldog. She's only 16 months old, and what can I say, she's the apple of my eye. She's nothing but trouble, but in a good way. :) The kitties (Kismet, Sam, Othello and Sarah) are... the kitties, but I couldn't live without them. Nothing like falling asleep with a purring cat snuggled up against you. Their antics bring much laughter into my life as well. My horses, Lacey and Tempest, are mother and daughter (I bought Lacey without knowing she was pregnant...). They are two beautiful girls who I enjoy riding, but also just spending time on a sunny afternoon hanging out with them in the pasture and being nuzzled. I also have a Shetland pony named Napolean who keeps one of the mares company if I take the other one out. He is quite the little character and is always challenging me by finding new and creative ways to break out of enclosures. :)

Hi, my name is Tucker, and the gang voted me to be the one to speak since I'm the most intelligent (the bulldogs can't type) and eloquent (besides, the cats and horses can't be bothered). Mom, in a nutshell, is crazy. She loves me to death, she loves all of us very much, but some times I think she does too much. I'm always surrounded by bulldogs (she fosters for rescue often) and I'm very patient, but I'd love the opportunity to go hiking and run with another "real" dog.

Wow, there are alot of questions I'm supposed to address to describe my "perfect date". I'll just try to keep it simple. A good first date for me would be dinner and wine at a nice restaurant, (perhaps with a nice view) away from the "fur kids", so that I can relax and try to get to know my companion. If the date is successful, I would love to plan future activities with the dogs and horses (if I meet someone who can ride). Important compatible features? Well, I have a hard time listing what someone "should be like" so I'll just list what I'm like and you can determine if we'd be compatible: - I'm spiritual but not into organized religion - I work hard and like to play hard when the opportunity presents itself - I probably don't want children (I'm not dead set against it, but I don't hear my "biological clock ticking" either) - I love to laugh and think that is what "heals all wounds" - I enjoy the company of people, but also like time at home alone (well, I'm never alone with all these animals around) - I'm a scientist and approach life from that mind-set much of the time, although I can occasionally be jolted out of it. I do love art and theater :) - As serious as I can get at times while working either at my profession or coordinating the rescue, I love to stop and have a good time. I do try to appreciate that each day is a gift. I don't always succeed, but I give it my best shot.
