I am currently working on my PhD in English; I teach English and American Lit and Rhetoric and Comp. So I spend a lot of time doing things like reading and grading papers. :) In my spare time, I like to get outside and to try new things. One of my prized possessions is my kayak, that I've named Rothinzil. I love animals- I've had my rabbit, Oscar, for 7 years and my dog, Sparky, for a year.

Right now I have a seven year old male dwarf rabbit named Oscar. Don't laugh- rabbits make great pets. He hops around after me when I'm meandering about the house, loves to play and be cuddled! I also have just adopted an cocker spaniel (or as Tony said in Lady and the Tramp, a cocker span-girl) named Sparky. She's a typical cocker, very hyper and friendly, with a chronic case of the wiggle-butts.

I think they'd both say that I spoil them rotten.

I'm looking for someone who knows how to have a good time, who can make me laugh (and my dog wag her tail). I'm not really into the bar/club scene usually, but could be persuaded to try it. I like getting outside and being active, but I also like curling up on the couch with a good book or a good movie. My favorite place to relax in the summer is on my backyard swing with a big thick book. If I want something more involved, I love taking Sparky to the dog beach- inevitably, we both come back covered in mud, but totally happy. I'd like to find someone who enjoys what I do, but would also bring some new and interesting ideas to my life.

Oscar loves all animals and has no idea that some other animals might want to view him as a tasty treat. Sparky says she wants a puppy playmate and a new human friend that understands her crazy puppy energy!
