| more about me: |
I was married once (good friends now)and have been
single a long time now. I strongly value integrity,
warmth, communication and humor. I am so blessed with
wonderful friends & family. I'm not able to be as
active as long or as intense as I once was. I want
some special man with whom I can do things and
hopefully find love again. Honesty, humor,
intelligence & kindness are essential - but say it
like it is - directness is appreciated! I've traveled
and lived the world. I'm a pretty good-looking,
eclectic, smart, fun, good woman....and I have
references. I'm getting back into kayaking (sit-on-top
kind) and hiking. Love the mountains and the ocean -
am a Dive Master - been on lots of great dives! Love
riding and enjoying the great outdoors with my animals
and other's. I love to fish and travel - so where are
you?!

About My Pet(s) |
| |
| Pet(s): |
|
| Name(s): |
Kaiser, Melish, Buddy, Sara, Magnus, Clawd, Tea Lady, Chlorella and Thumper |
| low down on my pet(s): |
Most of mine are rescues: Kaiser, a gorgeous 2-year-old
Harlequin Great Dane with 1 blue eye, is full of
vivacious joy & energy. He's mischievious, cuddly,
and a solid good boy. He'll sit in your lap, hug your
neck, grab you by the arm or hand to go play & run with
him. He was a rescue puppy.
Melish is a 7-year-old Irish Wolfhound. She is aloof
but talks clearly and stamps both front feet when she
wants attention. She's a 'full-figured' girl -
beautiful - but age & menopause bring it on - it's not
due to eating everything in sight, I'm sure!
Magnus (also called 'Magnum') is a huge Merle Great
Dane, resuced from death row when his owners dumped
him at the pound because they "were moving". 72-hour
death sentence for owner-surrendered pets...selfish
idiots. Mags took several months to come out of his
depression and trust he really was safe and loved in a
forever home. He has hip problems due to the confined
space in which they kept him. But he tries to run and
leap with the rest of Za Katzpaw Ranch gang! He has
to see a chiropractor once in a while.
Sara - a Great Pyrenese that was so emaciated when
rescued, you could count her vertebrae. She is our
guardian and protector. I've never seen a lion, tiger
or bear here! And now the deer, armadillos, bunnies,
cats, coyotes and squirrels don't dare come near our
little ranch! She is an extremely grateful dog,
bowing before me (as good Pyrs will do) and wanting to
be near and touched when not on guard.
Buddy is a little shepherd/chow/husky? mix that Sara
brought home to play and asked if she could keep him.
He is Sara's buddy and now all of ours. He is one of
the sweetest dogs you'll ever meet.
Tea Lady - what a magnificent black beauty of a horse!
She is our Solid Paint that came to me with a 3-month
old Tobiano, flashy (red and white) filly! Both were
emaciated and had rain rot and other fungi. After a
year of nurture, great feed, and loving reatment both
got healthy and beautiful. I recently sold the filly;
Tea remains. She's lost her fear and her skittish ways
and has that deep-throated whinnie when she hears or
sees me. I can rub her anywhere and gently hug on her
without 'catching' her.
Clawd, our only feline (besides me) lives upstairs
with me. He allows Kaiser on the bed to sleep with us
but whacks him with his cotton, clawless paw if he
gets too close. Kaiser is so startled he jerks his
head back trying to figure out why those soft cotton
mits pummled his nose!
Thumper is our donkey - she had her first baby here in
the barn on a cold March morning. What a sweet little
one she was! They both guarded goats (that are now
gone) from hungry coyotes and did a great job with the
help of Sara. Thumper greets everyone with a healthy
belting of Hee-Haw! She is cuddly and sweet but will
not tolerate a dog or coyote in her fields even though
the goats and her baby are gone! |
| my pet(s) would describe me as: |
Kaiser spoke for the gang: "The best most wonderfull
mommy ever - great to cuddle and sleep with! She makes
great yummy food, brushes, clips our nails (don't like
that), washes us when needed (in her opinion! - we
don't like that either until she's done and then we
feel so good!). She keeps our house and outside so
clean and we feel bad when we mess it up! (It's a
really warm, welcoming, nice home - every 2-legged
says that's how they fell when they come in.) We walk
and run together and she lets us help her feed Tea and
Thumper. We keep begging her to let Clawd and
Chlorella come outside to play with us but she won't!
She takes us dogs in the Suburban to parks and stores
and just about anywhere. Once Buddy hid in the 'burb'
when she went to work! She heard him a 1/2 mile away
and had to come back home - we laughed and barked!
We've liked some of the guys she's dated but she just
hasn't gone out very much at all. She says she's picky
but we know she's lonely. Since we have her love and
know how great it is, we want her to have a loving
2-legged too who can see how great she is and treat
her like she deserves. |

About My Date |
| |
|
I am a woman seeking a
man age
52 to
62 |
| for: |
activity partner |
casual dates |
friendship |
marriage |
relationship |
romance |
|
| my ideal date: |
He has to love dogs! Well - really all animals!
Appreciate nature! He must have integrity, warmth,
humor, compassion and love life - grateful for all he
has - recognizing even the hard times were gifts for
learning opportunites. I don't mind if he is
overweight - I like tall, big men. I prefer someone
who is handy around a house and ranch - but qualities
of the heart and soul are primary. He has good
hygiene but must be able to get sweaty and dirty
working and playing. He likes to be clean and
well-groomed. He's open to my ideas and he shares his.
He listens and he talks. He's thoughtful, reflective,
considerate, has strong principles and values - mainly
of honesty and a strong spirituality. He values
communication and enjoys living. He sees the positive
and the possibilities and wants to love and be loved by
a good woman. It doesn't matter where he lives although
close to me would be easier. |

Pet Heaven |

| Date: |
4/26 |
Pet name: |
Brutus |
|
|
| In loving memory: |
Brutus was a brilliant, loyal, loving, energetic,
joyful Harlequin Great Dane rescue. He was my first
Dane. He was Melish's first dog buddy and she adored
him. He died in my arms 5 1/2 weeks ago at home on his
favorite sofa. He had cancer and had gotten so thin I
did not want him to go further into pain or inability
so I made the decision requiring the greatest love. |
| Date: |
2/11/2001 |
Pet name: |
Sammy |
|
|
| In loving memory: |
Sweet Sammy - an adopted fella. Talked a lot as Siamese
will do! He loved more strongly and affectionately
that any animal (man type too) I've known. He could
not keep a paw off of me! He had a kidney and heart
problem and died in my arms in bed of a heart attack.
No one knew how old he was as he'd been through 3
families after being found almost 18 years prior! I
came to love and know cats so much better after having
him. All pets teach us love among so much more. |
