| more about me: |
Looking for new friends--human and/or canine! And if
one of them happened to be the love of my life, I
wouldn't complain...
I'm an intelligent, creative, kind and generally happy
Catholic professional with old fashioned values, in
search of a best friend and partner who will love me
AND my pets (not so difficult, as they're highly
loveable!). I'm also interested in meeting new friends
for long dog walks, trips to the park or beach, dog
activities or visits to the nursing home if anyone
else has a Therapy Dog.
Animals are just one of my passions--I also love to
write (and I feel tremendously lucky to be able to
make a living doing something I truly love!), sing,
dance, spend time outdoors, read, go to Mets games
(I'm a diehard--and right now, very
depressed--lifelong Mets fan), sleep late and spend
time with famly and friends.
Personality wise, I'm pretty down to earth (as happy
at a ballgame or bowling as I am at the ballet or a
Broadway show), more into quiet stuff (reading,
writing, movies, relaxing at home with the pets, long
walks) than wild nights out, though I do like being
around people and have a pretty wide diversity of
friends. I love the beach, movies, long walks with the
dog, music, dancing, amusement parks, dog events of all
kinds, going out to dinner, or conversely, packing a
picnic lunch and taking the dog for an afternoon
outdoors, or just curling up on the couch with the
cats to watch 24, House or Law & Order.
I believe it's important in life to have fun, and to
try to make the world a better place, and I don't
believe the two have to be mutually exclusive. I'm
looking for someone with similar values, who's looking
for something lasting.

About My Pet(s) |
| |
| Pet(s): |
|
| Name(s): |
Jessie, Cody, Casper |
| low down on my pet(s): |
Jessie is a gorgeous, hundred pound, frighteningly
smart working dog (Beligan malinois mix) who is active
in everything from obedience and agility to pet therapy
(she has a better social life than I do!). She loves
dogs, long walks, playing ball, going to the beach,
playing ball, training, sharing my meals (she has no
idea there's a difference between "dog food" and
"people food"), playing ball, learning new skills,
visits to PetSmart, playing ball, going to see friends
and family (canine and human) and just hanging out with
Mom. Ideally when Mom has a ball in her hand. She
adores her two cats, and shows it by alternately
kissing them and chasing them around the house.
The cats (Cody, the big one, and Casper, the
long-haired one) love open windows, their cat napper,
treats, their dog, pipe cleaners (apparently the
ultimate cat toy), the Animal Planet channel and
trying to sleep on the laptop while I'm working.
All three of my pets love shedding...yet, perversely,
hate the vacuum. I keep thinking if I can convince
them that little robot vacuum thingie is actually
another pet, I could get one and have a hair-free
house. More likely, though, I'd just have a dead
vacuum robot... |
| my pet(s) would describe me as: |
My Mom rescued me when I had zero prospects and was
best known as "the scary Cujo dog" and taught me that
people are actually good (except the evil mailman who
tries to break in every day when Mom's at work). She
is my best friend, and we really enjoy each other's
company. I share her meals, sleep in her bed, protect
her, hang out with her, go shopping with her (even if I
have to wait in the car sometimes), go to the bank with
her, make her get exercise, provide her with a sense of
direction that she desperately needs (I bark when she
turns the wrong way), and try to teach her not to
throw like a girl (though this might be a hopeless
task!).
My Mom loves me so much, she got me my very own cat
(the cat then got HIS own kitten, though unbeknownst
to Mom, he's been trying to sell the kitten on eBay)!
When my Mom adopted me, she did some research and
found out that I'm the kind of dog who Needs to Spend
A Lot of Time With Her People. So she takes me
everywhere -- the beach PetSmart, dog classes,
friends' homes, picnics...she even took me to dog camp
in Vermont! Like me, she's a bit cautious with new
people (we don't like total strangers kissing and
touching us -- ick!), but she's very affectionate with
those she cares about, she has a great heart, and she's
as fiercely loyal as any canine! |

About My Date |

I am a woman seeking a
man or woman age

48 |

friendship |
marriage |
relationship |
romance |
|
| my ideal date: |
I'm looking for a kind, funny, intelligent/educated,
handsome, Catholic professional man with no kids
(except the furry kind) who would like to one day have
the whole package (white picket fence, kids, pets,
etc.). I'd like to meet someone who's generally happy
and down to earth, and possessed of depth, integrity
and a capacity for joy and intimacy.
My dog, on the other hand, would like me to meet
someone with a good throwing arm who loves to take
long walks and drop things off the BBQ. Are there any
great guys out there with a good heart, integrity, a
sense of humor, smarts, a willingness to play lots of
ball and poor BBQing skills? |

| my pet's ideal date: |
I love all dogs, big and small, and would be happy to
have another dog friend for long walks, ball playing
and just hanging out having doggie fun. You should
like walks, trips to the beach, running around, naps
in front of the TV, barbecues (don't worry, Mom always
drops a hot dog or two) and going all kinds of places
(I have a very active doggie life!). If you love to
run after a ball but don't mind if I get it 95% of the
time, we'll be great friends!
I prefer dogs who aren't overly dominant, and who
won't hog the ball, steal my bones or eat my cats. You
especially can't eat he cats because I'm very fond of
them. And my Mom would be really, really upset. She
says you're never allowed to eat family.
I'm willing to share my Mom, as long as I still get to
be her number one dog (you can be your Dad's number one
dog). And you get bonus points if you can open the
refrigerator or get into the top cabinets where Mom
hides the treats!
Finally, you should have a really good human. I want
my Mom to find a best friend and partner, then I'll
have more people, dogs and cats to play with! |

Pet name: |
Tiffany |
| In loving memory: |
Beloved dog, friend, companion. Every time I can find
both gloves, I think of you...and miss having to
search the house for the other one. You truly were the
"perfect" dog, and you will always be my "Angel Puppy."
Thank you, too, for Jessie (and I apologize for not
trusting you about her). I was wrong; you were right.
She IS the right one. But you knew that, didn't you? I
love you, then, now, and always. |
