I'm originally from Colorado so I like to go camping, hiking and fishing, but haven't been able to do too much of it here. I was in the Air Force for 18 years and traveled around the US and Europe before settling down in New Mexico for 16 years. In that space of time I've been married/almost divorced/widowed/remarried and have 3 adult children from the first marriage and a 14 year old from the 2nd. My family have had all sort of pets, but mostly dogs and cats have kept us company over the years. Some of the smaller critters we had are teddy bear hamsters, a long haired Guinea Pig, parakeets, a couple of turtles, a mouse and a bunch of fishies. I don't think my life would be complete with out some sort of pet!! In addition to the stuff marked above I also like to do a little bit of everything like sewing, embroidery, ceramics, decorating (and redecorating), carpentry, a bit of plumbing, electrical (Lowe's is my toy store!), working on the computer, playing darts, listening to music, reading, and watching football (Go Broncos!!)

Scooby is a 2 1/2 year old short haired, blue and tan dapple miniature Dachshund. For being such a small dog, he lets on that he's not afraid of anything, that is until the vacuum comes out and then he's looking for someone to hide behind! He looks forward to his daily walks and going to visit his Doxie buddy Chelsea, who happens to be his half sister. He loves to go out and sun himself in the yard. He is the first dog I've had that likes to do that!!Lives for plastic water and pepsi/coke bottles (haven't figured that one out!!) Loves his Scooby snacks and like his namesake, will do just about anything to get one!! He was born on Feb 14 and is a true lover!! We are truly owned by this little guy. The kitties - Rose is a orange and white shorthair and is a very loving female. Garfield is, well Garfield; alot like the other Garfield. Let's say he lives up to his name . Pumpkin is a dark orange longhair that likes to headbutt and purrs non-stop!! Tippy, another orange and white tabby, thinks he's my baby (and he is, as he was sick as a kitten and needed a lot of extra care). They like to attack the catnip growing in the yard and don't like to be disturbed when it's nap time. Fish- Have 8 males bettas and 5-6 females Zango is a turtle of the red eared slider variety that my daughter recently acquired. We let him cruise around the back yard for some addition basking. So far we've gone from a 10 gallon tank to a 20L. Hopefully it will be a little while before I have to move him to a larger one.

I have my family well trained. They provide me with lots of Scooby "caves" and laps to lay on. I really like the big bed with the electric blanket.My mom takes me to the doggie food store (aka PetsMart) and I get to see new doggies and people and she gives me my puppy biscuits. My dad takes me for a walk everyday and he knows when it's time for my dinner, because I sit and stare at him!! I love to ride in the car, especially when I go to see Chelsea, my doxie buddy. More Scooby snacks and more walkies!!!

I'm a runner so they would have to keep up and then be able to curl up and take a quick puppy nap. Under the blanket of course! Gotta have my blanket....

Lewis

Lewis, our 7 year old male Parti Cocker Spaniel who died too young from kidney failure. Named Lewis after Lewis and Clark, the explorers. As puppies, Lewis and a little brown female, who was Clark, would take off together to do a little puppy exploring.

Samantha, Pookie and Stealth

Samantha, was my 12 year old female Parti Cocker Spaniel. Mother to both Lewis and Stealth. She was such a sweet dog, nothing ever bothered her. As a puppy, she would go into turbo mode and race around the house. Many times I would wake up and find that I was using her for a pillow. She dies unexpectly while waiting to see the vet, not sure of the cause, suspect kidney problems. Pookie - we lost Pookie in August 2003, also to kidney failure as the age of 14. He was a red male Cocker. Father to both Lewis and Stealth. As a puppy he looked like Garfield's bear Pookie, thus the name. Stealth - Lost Stealth in January 2004 also to kidney failure. He was a buff Cocker Spaniel. He add the ability to just kinda appear, that's why we called him Stealth. Miss them all greatly.....

Buster

Buster was a Maine Coon Cat who we brought as a kitten as well as his mom and 2 siblings when we moved from Boston to Albuquerque. He was really my son's cat and he got to see for the last time when he came home on leave after a year in Afghanstan
