Hello! My name is Marisa and I'm 25 years old. I am a Veterinary Technician, and currently going back to school to be a Veterinarian. I used to also volunteer my time to train dogs deemed "unadoptable" which is how I got my own doggie Rocky. I love live music, and I'm an avid people watcher. I'm a New Yorker and love to walk around and just take in the sights, whatever they may be.

Rocky is a 12 year old black German Shepherd who I met while volunteering to train "unadoptable" dogs at a no kill shelter just above New York. He'd been abandoned at his veterinarians office five years earlier, and was turned into this shelter because they could not stand to see him euthanized. When I first met Rocky, he was cage crazed and badly neglected. He had various health issues that were not addressed during his five year stint, and he was even heartworm positive. He is the smartest dog I've ever met, and we found out later he seems to be Schultzhund (protection dog) trained. He takes commands in German and English, but as he gets older he seems to only listen to German. He opens doors and turns on lights, can do tracking work and is bite trained, though he hasn't bitten anyone since I first got him. After I had him for about 8 months he finally played for the first time, and I got choked up. Four years later, he is 12 years old, and living very comfortably. He loves all other animals and most other people, though he is weary of men in hats. Rocky, or Rockstar which is one of many many nicknames is my best companion and friend.

I met my mom a few years ago in New York. She was a college student, and I lived in a cage. She started taking me out to lunch with her and one day she took me home and I never came back. We spend most days together, and she even takes me to work with her where I could play with my friends. We go to this place in the mornings where we sit and she drinks some funny smelling drink. Then we get to go to the park and see all of my friends. I get mad at her at night, because she never wants to go to sleep when Im tired. I don't like going to bed by myself, but she gets the hint after a few minutes.

Since I am just getting back in to school, Im more looking to make friends right now. If more comes of it, great. If not, at least I've made a friend. I'm a pretty laid back type A personality. I found out long ago, its not where you go, but who you're with that really matters.
