My friends describe me as random, fun and always looking for a new adventure. As a journalist, I work non-traditional hours and have a crazy schedule sometimes, so when I'm not working, I want to have fun and live life to the fullest -- whether that be spending time with my dog, friends and family; biking at Sandy Hook; traveling to someplace new; catching a Yankees game or doing whatever life throws at me, I like to experience new things. I live in New Jersey, but work in New York. One odd thing is that I love animals, but am allergic to most of them. That doesn't however stop me from owning them and wanting more of them, including a Clydesdale some day. A good chunk of my time is used to volunteer with several professional organization. I'm very laid back and pretty open minded -- unless you're a Red Sox fan, then it's war. ;-)

Toby is a 5-month-old Chihuahua, who is an absolute wonderful puppy (minus some housebreaking issues, I'm still having with him). I was looking at a totally different type of dog, and when I saw him, I just fell in love. Sky is a 3-year-old blue and white parakeet with the most amazing colors and personality. He was very well socialized as a baby and can say about a dozen words. He always wants to be the center of attention, and usually is. Bittle is a Russian tortoise given to me by my aunt, and Grouch is a female Russian I bought to keep him company. Bert and Ernie are two Russian tortoises I rescued from a dog shelter on Long Island. Roadie is a baby Russian tortoise I got about two years ago. Richie is a "fair" goldfish -- one of those that you win as a prize. I "won" him and two others last year while on an assignment. (His brothers live with two ex-coworkers.)

Toby: Michelle, or Shellie as her friends and family call her, is pretty awesome. She works a lot, but whenever she is home, she is all mine. She cuddles me, takes me for walks and car rides and she promised when I get a little older she will take me biking riding with her! I start barking when I hear her keys in the door and immediately jump into her arms when she gets inside. My favorite thing to do with her (and I think she likes it, too) is sit together on her Adirondack chair soaking up the sun. I selected a good human to take me home. Sky: I was a very happy only child, until she brought home that dog thing. Now I have to share my Michelle time with Toby. I drove with her for eight hours home from Virginia and listened to some good music -- Aerosmith, Brand New, Bon Jovi. She does let me sit on her shoulder almost all the time and sometimes takes me traveling with her. When she is home, she makes a little dinner plate for me to enjoy some of her good cooking.

Hmmm...my ideal match...I think someone really doesn't know their ideal match till they meet them. But, I can tell you a person who would catch my attention is someone who could go biking or horseback riding during the day and then to a five star restaurant at night. Someone who respects me for me and understands my lifestyle as a journalist with non-traditional hours. Someone who is comfortable in their own skin, has a good head on their shoulders and is passionate about life. Where they live really isn't a big deal, if there is a connection. Physical attraction is important, but mental attraction ranks even higher. I'm a vegetarian, but not one of those crazy ones -- my date doesn't have to be, as long as he respects my choices.
