About me..hmm ..I don't feel or look 45 & nobody's guessed more than 35. I'm a kid at heart! Age is a state of mind! I know it's not easy to get an accurate picture of a personality here... but here's a little of who I am.. I've never been married & don't have children - love kids though. I speak English, French & get by in Spanish. I have a Univ. degree and a great job that I'm having fun with. I have 2 German Shepherds and a Boston (strange trio I know) that I adore and love spending time with them playing & training. They are all rescued dogs - adopting from a rescue org. or shelter is not for everyone but I highly recommend it! I take my dogs with me to as many places as I can -they're really well behaved (most of the time)! I love my friends and family but wish more of them would have pets! Few of my friends have animals in their lives and I'm the only "animal maniac" in my family ... I really wanted to be a Vet from the time I was young but alas ... the sciences did not come easy for me :-(

Riley, my female Shepherd, is 6 and is known as my "velcro dog". I got her when she was 4 months old and she was afraid of everything! She's a goofball now - very smart, but a goofball none the less. We started Agility two years ago and already she's a star - I, on the other hand, need more training! We recently started obedience classes again and are now doing the advanced level. Brody, my male Shepherd is almost 6 and is a puppy in a large body. He was a rescue - had been kept in a cage the first 2 years of his life and weighed only 50 lbs - you could count his ribs! I met him and just fell in love. Everything is new to him. He just loves to give "kisses" and he lets out a huge groan of contentment when he lies down somewhere soft. He's learning how to play and be a dog - he's a sweetie. I take obedience classes with him and he's the class clown :-) He recently started agility classes - I'm hoping all of this will help to build his confidence. Logan, my Boston "Terror", just turned 2. He too is a rescue from the Montreal area. Some people don't think before they get a puppy. The poor little guy had 2 homes and was in a rescue org. twice before coming to live with us when he was 5 months old. He's a real "wigglebutt". I adore him and the GSDs think of him as a real live toy to play with! :-) It's just a hoot to watch them play together - quite something to see!

Our Mom loves us to bits! She feels guilty leaving us each day to go to work but knows that we have each other for company while she's gone. She's single and gave up some of her social life for us - no more going for a drink after work with friends 'cause she can't wait to get home and play with us. She'd like to find places to take us with her on holidays -particularly places with water so we can learn to swim because we love to play in the water but ... swimming is another story! Ottawa has no beaches that we're allowed to go to :-(

I am a woman seeking a man age 35 to 50

On the friendship side ....While finding a man to share my life with would be nice, my life is good and I'm content. I like connecting with animal loving people and making new friends - It's all good:-) Few of my friends have dogs / cats and those that don't find it difficult to relate to my devotion to my "kids". I love this site because it shows me that I have many "kindred spirits" ou there! On the dating side .... I'm looking for a man that I want to spend time with and who wants to spend time with me -a man that I'm attracted to not only physically but also intellectually. I'd like to meet someone who understands how important my "kids" are to me .. I'm looking for the "solid stuff" (i.e. honest, sense of humour, compassionate, intelligent, not a narcicist, etc ...) I used to love to go camping but haven't figured out how to manage that concept effectively by myself with 2 dogs :-) Long-distance friendships are great but for dating, someone local to the Ottawa area would be preferred.

Riley and Brody are great with other non-agressive dogs (they take some time to warm up to new people though). New friends who can show them that deep water is nothing to be afraid of would be great! Logan loves everybody, people and dogs, and has no fear - hey - he plays with GSDs! As Brody did not have much socialization when he was little, he plays a bit rough (not mean or aggressive) - he just hasn't yet grasped proper play etiquette yet but he's learning. New friends who can take a little rough play without being affraid or aggressive would be best.

Nicky

Nicky was my first Dog. He was a white, miniature poodle. I got him for Christmas when I was 8 and he was 3 months old. My oldest sister save up her money and bought him for me - she chose a poodle as I was alergic to everything with fur when I was a kid but absolutely adored animals. I loved that dog and was absolutely broken-hearted when he died. He was my best buddy, my constant companion and partner in crime - he was so smart it amazed me sometimes. I will always remember him with a smile on my face

Willy (aka Miss Willy, Wills, the Willster)

Willy, my 15-year-old cat, passed away in my arms in early December 2005 at the tender age of 15 – she waited until I got home from work so I could hold her and say goodbye … It’s been tough as I've had her since she was 7 weeks old. For 15 years, she was my baby Willy, “the Willster”, Miss Willy, Wills, my wonderful cat, constant companion, live-in therapist, and faithful alarm clock. I don't know how we'll get along without her but I'm sure she's in a better place, curled up somewhere soft with all of her favorite treats and her sister BC by her side.
