I like that there is a dating site that acknowledges the importance of pets! My pets are my babies and I spoil them rotten. Anyway, I am a very simple person--simple meaning that I can converse on a broad range of topics with complexity, but it doesn't take much to make me happy. I like laid-back people that have energy, which I know is an oxymoron. Someone who doesn't freak out over small things (like dog hair!) but also likes to go outside for example and throw a frisbee back and forth (while my German Shepherd runs in between trying to steal the frisbee). want someone with integrity, honesty, and most definitely a sense of humor--obnoxious and sophomoric a plus (my mother bought me a fart machine for Christmas if that gives you a clue)...Anyway, I hope to add pictures of me, my girl (Athena) and my boy (Kashka) soon.

Athena: GORGEOUS (and I'm not just biased--she gets told that everywhere we go) coated black and red (coated=long haired) 2 year old German Shepherd female. She has been obedience trained in Schutzhund and has done agility. She's a GREAT dog. Kashka: Also gorgeous solid gray long-haired male cat (he'll be 14 this march!). He's my heart and soul in one little old man. He and Athena like each other, which surprises me. He didn't want to have anything to do with her at first.

They would say that I have high expectations, and can be tough, but that I'm always fair. They'd say I'm a gentle, loving mom who always sees the best in them and others. They'd say I love to laugh and also value quiet times with soft strokes and cheerful conversation. They would say I love balance, with healthy meals mixed with occasional McNuggets for special treats.

My ideal date would be someone who values what is really important in life and someone who is not caught up in what he doesn't have but caught up in what he does. I'm seeking a best friend, a partner, and well, someone who finds me as hot as I find him lol. Important to me is integrity and honesty. I don't "sweat the small stuff" as it were. You leave the toilet seat up? BIG DEAL. You do something shady or sneaky? DEAL BREAKER. As I mentioned earlier, a sense of humor is a must, whether your style is dry, goofy, physical, whatever. Humor isn't something that can be qualified. You're either funny or you're not. You must be (overall) a positive person, even if it's covered up by a sarcastic wit. I prefer a personality that is confident but not aggressively so, maybe with a touch of nerdiness. Appearance doesn't matter hair/eye color, but I am more attracted to lean men, as I am lean and petite myself. Interests can run the gamut. I don't necessarily feel that people's interests need to mirror each other. I really like people who have interests apart from mine--so I can geek out and learn something new. I would like to share an interest in being interested which I know sounds cheesy, but oh well. I would prefer they live in the Fairfax VA area or Northern VA area.

Athena would ideally love a male dog to play with, as two females can sometimes be iffy. She's a bit of a rough-and-tumble tomboy (like her mom lol), and can be a bit dominant with other females. Another GSD would be ideal, but I have seen her play with other big dogs. Little dogs seem to bring out her prey drive, and sometimes she scares them, so unless it's a VERY self confident (not aggressive) dog, that's probably not a good idea.
