Hi! Thanks for taking the time to visit! I was born and raised in the Boston area but moved to Memphis at age 13. I am fortunate that life has allowed me to travel and live abroad, to experience a variety of cultures and indulge in art and history, including a graduate degree from Univ. College Dublin in Celtic Archaeology. As an animal lover and activist I currently only have 1 rescued rabbit who lives indoors with me. Bunnies are curious and intelligent creatures, love to cause mischief, and can be totally boxtrained so Nutmeg has free run of the place when I'm home to keep an eye on her. A few years ago I rescued a 1 yr. old terrier/german shepherd mix in July. Unfortunately, she was just too big an alpha personality and did not assimilate into my furry family. My parent's have decided to keep her, with my father being the strong alpha male presence she needs to behave. Personally, I think she's crazy- like a dingo--seriously. But, she's loved very much and has a large back yard that she loves to "patrol". But wait...there's more!!! I rescued/adopted a 9 year old Maltese several years ago who needed a good home. Abby is just precious, gets along with Maya and even plays very nicely with Nutmeg. Ahhh, a happy home indeed. I'm a bit of a homebody and enjoy quiet relaxation. I have recently left the field of Human/Social Services after 10 years to pursue my first love- the Creative Arts-not only a trained singer but I work in acrylics, oil/chalk pastels, photography, multi- and mixed-media. I have become the proverbial "starving artist" and seem to have the "starving" part down pat

Maya graduated obedience classes at the top of her class!! (And has since forgotten or refuses all commands : eye roll : ) She's become a wonderful companion. Her life started badly, having given birth to a litter of puppies in her first year, then being dropped off in the middle of the night in a crate with said puppies (only 1 of which survived the trauma). She now knows what a stable loving home is like. Abby is a recent rescue...but who can resist that face????? She is friendly, adoring and will lick anything and anybody she can. Loves the attention and is a true little diva! Nutmeg is the most recent rescue-just a baby bunny who had been dumped in a public park by some idiot who thinks domestic rabbits can live on their own outdoors. After about 30 minutes I finally captured the little 1.8 lb bundle, removed over 300 ticks, and after she passed quarantine she has become a delightful addition to the fuzzy family.

Nutmeg: I love my mommy, we really bonded when I was just a baby!!! I love giving her bunny kisses, or re-designing her hair... well, when I'm not digging in her clothes and making little holes in her favorite shirts. She spoils me, but I deserve it-even if I do try to destroy her new carpet, furniture or attempt to get to those wires she has hidden away. I like Abby, but don't understand why she doesn't wiggle her nose. Maya: Wow. I can hardly contain my excitement!! Sure I give my mommy bruises because I've never had all this freedom and I just want to jump and play and run and nip. Somehow I need to explain to her that I'm the alpha dog around here. Plus, I'm a little bonkers in the brain- being a shepherd AND terrier mix (heck maybe even dingo!), I don't know whether to herd or chase. I do know that if I bide my time,I WILL get that pesky chipmunk or wily squirrel. Abby: Yay! Finally a forever home where I"ll be loved and cuddled and smooshed and fawned over. I even tolerate that strange looking thing with the wiggling nose, but I don't like it when she jumps on me. I don't feel that's proper bunny behavior. Sheesh, can't she see I AM a diva!?

Don't be silly. Bunnies don't date. Besides, Nutmeg has Abby and that's quite enough for her. As for Maya, her doggy park debut was a smashing success. Does best with dogs her size or smaller. Abby's too little for the dog park...plus, at 12 years old now, she's a crotchety old lady who merely tolerates other dogs. Although, I think she would enjoy the company of cats (she seems fascinated by them)and I know she loves playing with the bunnies, so other species are of interest to her.

Sweety

After a long battle with an inoperable tumor and many months of borrowed time, my beloved Sweety passed away peacefully in her sleep. We had 8 wonderful, nosewiggling years together. Every moment was precious, and her memory will live forever in my heart.

Buddy

The most wonderful, sweet, mellow mannered, kind creature...Never knew a stranger, loved all with an open heart and sweetly wagging tail. The Great Budinsky will always be missed...

Cookie and Smudge

It is with a heavy heart that I write about my sweet Cookiepie. So vibrant in life; a busy body, bully, sweetheart, independent spirit, a personality 4x her size. With her went a piece of my heart. And I'm still reeling from the loss of Smudge just a few weeks later. Such a handsome, sweet, lovely little bunny who had the fortitude of a real fighter, even after he went blind. They are buried side by side, as they always lived in life.
