I'm independant and adventurous, kind-hearted, open-minded, and modest enough to feel rather uncomfortable writing this kind of thing, LOL. I'm devoted to my dogs and actively involved in animal rescue, dog agility with the the younger two, and have tried Earthdog with the older two. All of these are female-dominated venues, so I don't meet a lot of guys. (Seriously, guys, if you want to meet women who love animals "live and in person", volunteer with a rescue group or shelter!) I feel I have a real "calling" to rescue animals. I'm allergic to cats, but that didn't stop me from bring home two Manx kittens who some little boys were going to turn loose if they couldn't sell them at the local store last week. I've been known to pull over and dash across the interstate to save a Golden Retriever puppy in the median in route to a wedding, too - life with me is far from dull! I have a wide variety of interests: I love to read and go to museums but also like to hike, camp and travel or go out and hear local music.

If you can open the treat jar, they'll love you. They're friendly, active, curious, affectionate, and can get a bit loud, but are basically well behaved. They're all rescued from different situations. I don't recommend us to anyone with cats or small animals, though. Rocke and I do agility - he's in Advanced and Masters level in USDAA. He's gregarious and inquisitive, doesn't meet a stranger. Bo's a big clown and a cuddler, but can be protective if he thinks someone's hurting his Momma. Annie's a real diva: hard headed and expects to be treated like a princess. She loves men. Raoudi is the baby of the family and the wild child - enthusiasm personified. All of them can "dance" and "give five" and are highly sucessfull at trick contests.

Our Mom can act tough with us, but she's basically a softie. She takes us lots of places and spoils us. The only bad thing is she brings home foster dogs - we never know who's going to show up next.

I like guys with a good sense of humor and a spirit of adventure. I'm picturing afternoons at the dog park, cooking out in the back yard, going out to listen to local music, or hiring a dog sitter for the weekend and going whitewater rafting. A loving and responsable pet owner is a must, of course, as is someone who's understanding when I come home with yet another animal in need.

We're such a diverse group that there's bound to be one of us who's compatable with you. We can chase rabbits, or play with our overflowing box of toys, or cuddle on the couch. Bonus points if your human will take us on car rides or for romps in the park.

Syd was a little lost Schnauzer who ran into my downtown office and changed my whole life. He was my best friend for 9 years, and was just shy of 17 when he died. He inspired me to do rescue.
