I'm a veterinary anesthetist and work in emergency medicine. Things that I enjoy doing most in my spare time involve my son and his interests, especially the Philadelphia Boys Choir, afghan hounds and all other sight hounds, motorcycles, and classic performance cars. Of course, I also love my work and anything to do with animals. I am outspoken, sarcastic, "entertaining", opinionated, and somewhat cynical, as I have been described by both friend and foe. I love meeting new people, especially those with similar interests, getting to know them, and understanding what makes them unique. I "collect" those who I have similar interests with, even though we may not agree on everything, and they become important to me and close to me in one way or another. As most of us are these days, I don't have much time so I make sure I spend doing things that I love and with people who have similar interests.

Bleu (13 years) and Rose (7 years) are rescued animals (abused); Joli (20 years) was a several day-old female kitten found in a dumpster and hand reared, Saffron (1 1/2 years) ia a beautiful Siamese male given to me at 4 1/2 weeks when I did the anesthesia on his mother's spay and his father's neutering, Asia was the runt of a litter of feral kittens that I trapped and rehabilitated, and Cinders was a feral kitten of about 8 months burned over 60% of her body in a barn fire in Bedminster last year that was rehabilitated at our emergency clinic. Slade is a year old Chinchilla that a client gave to me a few months ago.

Most of us (except for that Siamese who thinks he owns the joint)came from pretty bad backgrounds and now we have it made in the shade!

My "ideal date" would be spending time with someone as an activity partner, friendship, relationship, romance, casual dates, or any or all of the above. I would like that person to have similar interests to mine so that we could do those things together.

Since my Afghan Hounds don't see themselves as dogs, they don't usually like interacting with dogs. And if you know cats, cats certainly don't like other cats they don't know! So I guess I'm on my own in this one!
