Greetings from Texas! I'm a former military brat who's not originally from Texas but has grown to love it here. My full-time gig is at one of the local hospitals, which I love. During the rest of the time, I'm teaching dog training and building up my home based internet business (for an example of my work, check out www.luckysbark.ws) When most people see me for the first time, they think I'm Hispanic, but I'm actually half Caucasian, half Asian. I am a huge animal lover who aspires to win the lottery so I can open up an animal shelter...and get rid of all my bills of course.

Lucky is a dachsund/beagle mix (shaped like a dachsund, built and barks like a beagle) I got from the SPCA over 10 years ago. He will be 12 years old in April, but it only shows in his gray hairs from all the stress his sister the cat gives him. He's still a pup at heart. Kali is an 8 year old calico (the vet I got her from gave her that name, not me!) She sees all the attention her brother receives and has to compete on the same level as him - even so far as waiting by the kitchen to get her treats when Lucky gets his for going potty outside. Other than that, she is your typical neurotic calico kitty!

Since I have not trained my dog or cat to type (for good reason), I will fill in this section for them. Lucky would describe me as his best friend who would do just about anything for him. He does feel, however, that I do not give him enough cheese (his favorite treat). He would also say that I'm a very trusting, loyal and kind-hearted gal, but watch out if you make me mad! Kali would say that overall I'm a very nice person who pays way too much attention to the dog and not her. But that's just like a cat isn't it?

My ideal date would be someone who can carry a conversation by speaking and listening - as long as the person is not an egomaniac. I'm more of a dog person than a cat person, but I'm an animal lover in general so it doesn't bother me what kind of pet someone has. As a matter of fact, any animal, other than roaches and spiders, are just fine with me unless it actually wants to eat my dog or cat. I am also looking for someone that can be as loyal to me as their dog is to them. The thing I value the most in any relationship - platonic or romantic - is trust. Without trust there can be nothing. It also wouldn't hurt if my date knew a thing or two about soccer, but it's not required.

I don't know that I can really fill any of this in for my pets. Lucky gets along fine with other cats but prefers to be the only dog in the vicinity. Kali gets along great with other dogs (after a couple of days of hiding out), but heaven forbid another cat enter the room! I think my dog is a cat and my cat is a dog.
