| more about me: |
I am a Christian woman looking for a long term
relationship, leading to marriage, with a man who
loves the Lord and lives his faith. (no offense
intended, but I am not looking for a “Bible Thumper”
nor someone with an extremely “Liberal Theology”.) I
love animals, the arts, and am very creative.
Divorced (after 20 yrs. of marriage), I am a chaste
and celibate “biblical widow”. (see I Cor. 7:1-16)
I’m 5', 160, blue eyes, short brown hair. Some
pictures are about 10 years old (except from my son’s
wedding). I hope to be getting some during the
holidays.
A former actress/director turned writer and trainer of
service dogs I have a BA in theater, a seminary diploma
in Lay Studies, and graduate work in directing and
teaching that was interrupted when I became disabled.
I have a service dog (yellow lab) named Max. He is a
real sweetie and is with me 24/7. Because of Max, and
the training work I do, you must love animals or at
least dogs, and be accepting and tolerant of all
animals. (Love me - love my dog! ;-)
Married for almost 20 years and have I been divorced
since 1994 and have two grown sons and two grand
daughters & someone on the way. I have travelled
extensively and lived in many places both in and out
of the US.
I am a very creative person who enjoys art,
photography, writing, poetry, sewing, needlecraft, and
scrapbooking. I am a published poet and was selected
as one of the top 100 poets in Los Angeles when I
lived there. Currently, I am working on a novel.
My favorite comedy movies are "Young Frankenstein" and
"Monty Python & the Holy Grail". My favorite dramas
are "The Elephant Man" and "Pay It Forward". My
favorite romantic movies are "Jerry Maguire" and "Don
Juan de Marco". My favorite classical music
selections are "Pachebel's Canon in D", Vivaldi's "The
Fours Seasons", Barber's "Adagio for strings", "Night
on Bald Mountain" and just about anything by Aaron
Copeland. If you are familiar with these we are
probably on the same page, taste wise.

About My Pet(s) |
| |
| Pet(s): |
|
| Name(s): |
Max, Freckles, Pretty Bird (parakeet), 10 finches, bunch o' eggs, & a pond with 22 fish |
| low down on my pet(s): |
My main man Max is a 13 year old yellow lab and he is a
Certified Service Dog. He is handsome, brilliant, very
well behaved, gentle, lovable and an overall "big
yellow oaf". As far as his Alpha status, he is
content to be a proud Zeta. He loves all people and
animals (including cats).
Freckles is a Brittany Spaniel (6/17/2007). I'm
training him to be a service dog for my dad. He's a
handful but seems to be quite bright and a super
sweetie. He is working just as hard at training me.
:-) Its still up in the air as to who is Alpha... but
he'll learn eventually.;-)
Let me call Max & Freckles to fill out the next part. |
| my pet(s) would describe me as: |
Hi there! My name is Max and I have been taking caring
of my mom for 10 years. She is one DYN-O-MITE lady!
When we lived in Los Angeles we went to
Disneyland every week or two. She is a big kid at
heart and she is always laughing and joking and
singing. We used to go to a lot of places like
museums and poetry readings and movies and concerts
and out to eat. She had a lot of friends and we all
had a great time. Sometimes she even sang Karaoke for
fun. She can be such a goof at times. :-)
She is a good friend and is always there for those who
need her. If you are her friend, you're her friend for
better or worse. She will stand by you no matter what.
She tries to be a good Christian. She says she always
wants to be the kind of person that her "Daddy" would
be proud of. Its more important to her to "walk the
walk" than to "talk the talk".
She always has a very full and happy life but, I think
she may be a little lonely sometimes. She loves life,
(and having me share it) but I think she would be
happier if she could find a soul mate to share it with
us.
I never knew the guy she was married to, but there
must have been something wrong with him to give up a
real gem like her. She says he was her soul mate, but
that there are more than one soul mate for everyone.
She learned how to be loved and love someone
unconditionally by being married to him. But, that was
then and this is now. She isn't looking for a
replacement and she is ready to take a chance and
entrust her heart and soul to the right man again.
So, if you want a "Pearl of Great Price" and are ready
to appreciate this lovely gift from God, get in touch
with us.
Hey Max, I want to say something too! Big brothers
can be a lot of fun but you need to put them in their
place. He's right, Mom seems cool. She thinks she's
training me and I have fun giving her a real
challenge. :-) I like how surprised she seems when
she takes me out and I behave perfectly! Ha-ha! uh-oh
gotta run.... Max, give me the bone. C'mon bro... |

About My Date |
| |
|
I am a woman seeking a
man age
55 to
65 |
| for: |
activity partner |
friendship |
marriage |
|
|
| my ideal date: |
I am looking for a non-smoking, Christian man who lives
his faith (with a combination of Jonah, Abraham,
Corinthians, and the letters of John), has similar
interests as well as different ones, is intelligent,
conversant, and within 10 years (max.) of my age.
My dad is basically healthy, but he has failing sight
and hearing and has started exibiting mild dementia
symptoms from brain injuries, so I recently returned
from California to be closer to help him. You should
live (or be willing to relocate to) within 50 miles of
me.

I was watching Forest Gump last night and found yet
another profound saying. "Don't ya just love New
Years? It gives you a chance to start over." Its
been years since I saw this movie. Then, I found it
remarkable because of the technological aspects. Now,
I am see it in a new light because of the message and
the man. Sort of like Christmas is about the message
and the baby Lord. Like looking beyond the gifts and
decorations. I think I have a new hero!
In reminiscing about the meaning of life and other
deep thoughts I think I begun to create my recipe for
the perfect man. (Sort of like the perfect soufflé, It
has to fall a little to be good. If there's too much
air and it has no flavor, too little and its flat and
hard to digest.) Don't be frightened, it is a wish
list of perfection, not reality. I once met a man who
met the definition of my "perfect"man. After about 2
months he drove me crazy! Perfection is not what you
"think" you want, but a blend of good and bad, weak
and strong. Anyway:
1 gallon Guido (from "Life is Beautiful") for
everlasting love,
1 gallon Jesus for forgiveness,
1 gallon Job for faithfulness,
1 quart each of Mel Brooks, Robin Williams, and
Monty Python's flying circus for humor,
1 quart Don Juan de Marco for romance,
1 pint of Pinky & the Brain, Rocky & Bullwinkle,
Bugs Bunny, and Disneyland (mixed) for childlike joy
and wonder
1 cup (mixed) Nigel Kennedy, Luciano Pavarotti,
Garth Brooks, and Luther Vandross for music,
1 cup Forest Gump for knowledge and wisdom,
1 cup Elephant Man for faith and appreciation,
1 cup snow-covered Christmas morning in the woods
for serenity
1 cup walk in the woods for peace and closeness
with God
1 tablespoon (each) Sean Connery's and Pierce
Brosnan's "James Bond" for passion, excitement, and
adventure
1 tablespoon of "The road less traveled" for the
unexpected
1 tablespoon Mel Gibson 'cuz he's got a cute butt
;-),
1 teaspoon Tom Cruise to "complete me" to "have me
from hello".... and because I love his crooked little
smile,
1 teaspoon Jonah to have the guts (and
relationship) to argue with God
Blend together well, adjust and season to personal
taste, let rise, and cook slowly until golden.
Share the recipe [not the man :-)] with as many as
possible
So, what do you think about my recipe? |

About My Pet's Date |
| |
| My pet(s) is seeking a: |
|
| for: |
casual |
hanging out in the park/beach |
indoor fun |
treat and a conversation |
|
| my pet's ideal date: |
Hi there, it's me, Max, again!
Mom said I should describe my own date. Boy, this is
harder than talking about her. First of all, I'm not
looking for a wife because (quite frankly) I wouldn't
be of much use in "that" area. They neuter us early
if we are lucky enough to be chosen to work as a
Service Dog. But, I would love to have adopted
brothers and sisters if you two get together. (Hmmm,
now that I've seen what they can be like... as long as
their not puppies.)
Of course, while you're dating I'd be around. I love
everybody, but I am my mom's guy. Since we're all
getting on in years, our dates will probably be more
on the sedate side. Now, don't get me wrong. We do
love a nice walk in the woods, playing frisbee or
catching balls, "comfy" camping, and being in the
fresh air. But a pizza and a movie or Chinese and a
video would also be fun.
If you have a dog that likes to play, and isn't a
bully, we would have a great time tearing up the
living room with our romping and playing. I am a big
boy and my tail is registered both as a lethal weapon
and a perpetual motion machine. Because I have to be
polite and behave, it would probably be easier if your
dog was too. I'm not a snob, but I am quite a cultured
pooch. :-) |
