| more about me: |
Okay, I've been remiss in updating my profile. I could
say that I've been busy but that is a poor excuse.
I've just been lazy about talking about myself on
line.
I don't have a lot of new or exciting adventures to
talk about. It's been pretty boring around here
lately.
So for what it's worth, here is the latest poop about
me and what I have been doing...
I received my Master Gardener certification in the
winter of 2006. Got the "Advanced" rating in June
2007. I have re-landscaped my yard again in Spring
and added a water feature. So now my "pets" include
the birds that visit, the fish that swim and a number
of frogs, toads and other wildlife that stop by in the
yard. My yard is certified as a wildlife habitat and
is also considered a Monarch butterfly way station. A
little slice of nature here in the city.
The squirrels that stop by are tame enough to hand
feed and the blue jays have me trained to hand out
peanuts when they squawk for them. It makes for an
enjoyable morning as I read the paper and have my
morning coffee.
I have a new puppy who enjoys the wildlife almost as
much as me. Except she wants to chase then all away!
She also likes to wade in the pond and try to catch the
fish and tadpoles! So far, she hasn't caught anything
but it's not for lack of trying. See below for
comments about my new girl!
Oh, this is about me, eh? I like motorcycles,
woodworking, gardening, scenario paintball, bowling,
SCUBA diving,reading, crosswords, and music.

About My Pet(s) |
| |
| Pet(s): |
|
| Name(s): |
Majick, Freddie, Maggie Mae |
| low down on my pet(s): |
Dog-Majick.
6 year old Samoyed mix. About 65 pounds of pure
enjoyment. He is mellow and well mannered. He knows
tricks and likes to play. Majick is a hoot and a
half. He travels with me just about everywhere I go.
I have never had a better trained dog. I can walk him
with or without a leash and he never leaves my side.
He gets along well with other dogs and even likes
cats. As a pup, he was "Trained" by my cat so he
"fights" like a cat and confuses the other dogs that
he plays with. Majick is well socialized and
friendly. But he is also a good watch-dog, letting me
know when someone strange is in the area.
He has his mean bark and growl and his friendly bark
that sounds like Curly from the Three Stooges. The
Curly bark is for people that he likes.
Cat - Freddie (2.5 years)
This is the best cat that I have ever had. A grey DSH
who is so mellow and sweet. Freddie is not declawed
but he lets me trim his nails as needed. All the
while purring loud enough to drown out the stereo.
Freddie is strictly an indoor cat and has no desire to
go outside. He loves Majick (dog) and tries to play
when he is not sleeping. Freddie is a cat that you
can't help but love.
Maggie Mae is the new addition to the family. She is
a 6 month old Golden Retriever with personality and
energy to burn! She has no fear and is hell on
wheels! Slim and long legged, Magpie runs with the
big dogs and leaves them in the dust. She was the
runt of the litter but don't tell her that! She is
fiesty and sassy and very vocal, not to mention
stubborn as a mule. She is a typical Golden puppy,
full of personality and love. Maggot is learning
tricks and walks well on the leash but gets distracted
quite easily. She loves to travel and meet other dogs
and cats. She is very gentle and loves to play. |
| my pet(s) would describe me as: |
Hi, This is Majick.
I'm not a dog, I'm a Peeple. I have trained this guy
as best as I can but he is far from perfect. Sure, he
feeds me and takes me for rides in the truck and gives
me treats and lots of love and attention, but there
are like 80 hours in a day and I don't get all of them
devoted to me. What's up with that you biped? This
belly won't scratch itself you know. I don't mind the
brushing and stuff but those baths have got to stop. I
didn't roll in that stink just so you could dunk me in
the tub. But I do admit that I look fabulous wearing
the fancy scarves. Oh, I will give him props for the
time that the skunk got me. That was pretty nasty.
But tomato juice tastes pretty good.
Move over dog, Let a cat show you how to suck up.
I'm Freddie. I'm a cat. You got a problem with that?
I didn't think so. Everyone loves cats. Just some
people don't know it yet. This guy here, well, he
gets it. He knows how to make me purr. He talks cat
pretty well becauses he listens to what I have to say.
Mostly I ignore him except when it's time for dinner
or petting. But when I need him, he is there for me.
I think this one is a keeper.
My name is Maggie, but I'm often called "Magpie",
"Maggot", "MaGhee", "Helen", "Booger", and a few words
that I think are swear-words. No matter, I'm a cute
puppy and I can get away with murder. I haven't
pooped in the house in months. My attention span is
kind of short but I'm a cute girl so I can do what I
want. I like to go for walks and rides. We go up
North and I can swim in the river. I like people,
dogs and cats. Did I tell you that I'm cute? |

About My Date |
| |
|
I am a man seeking a
woman age
30 to
50 |
| for: |
casual dates |
friendship |
networking |
|
|
| my ideal date: |
My ideal date??? I'm pretty much a home body. I'll
cook dinner and then we can watch a movie. Play with
the critters and watch the sun set. On days that the
chores are done, it's a ride on the motorcycle. Okay,
some days the chores don't get done! I'm not into the
bar or crowd scene, I'd rather go to the lake and
relax with a picnic, a few beers and a little fishing.
Perhaps a bike ride? Maybe a long walk?
Frankly, as I've gotten older, I find myself less
tolerant of the dating games. I'm don't want to put
on a facade to impress anyone. You have to take me as
you find me. I'm just a regular guy, no glitz, no
glamour. |

About My Pet's Date |
| |
| My pet(s) is seeking a: |
|
| for: |
casual |
hanging out in the park/beach |
outdoor fun |
treat and a conversation |
walking buddy |
|
|
| my pet's ideal date: |
Majick (dog) doesn't really want any competitors for
affection. He likes to play with other pups but he is
getting older and likes to have a more sedate meeting.
Any treats that are given are fair game if he can steal
them. He has manners but sometimes forgets then when
it comes to food or treats.
Freddie (cat) loves everyone, people or dog, he hasn't
played with another cat so I can't say what he would
do. In the time that I have had him, he has met 5
dogs, so much bigger than he, but he has never uttered
a hiss or had a fuss about them.
Maggie wants to play, play, play. She is an
instigator and will give any other dog a run for it's
money. Cats are fair game as well. That is until she
gets tired and needs a nap and then it is sofa time.
And she snores! |

Pet Heaven |
| |
| Date: |
4/1983 |
Pet name: |
Sunshine (when young) |
|
|
| In loving memory: |
Sunshine was a purebred Golden Retriever. She was a
wonderful dog who I got when she was 9 months old.
She was a great travel companion. She went everywhere
with me from Up North to Florida. East Coast to West
Coast.
She loved the water, snow and mud but she would strut
like a Vegas showgirl when she got groomed. |
| Date: |
1/2001 |
Pet name: |
Sunshine (older) |
|
|
| In loving memory: |
As Sunshine got older, she became very strong willed
and stubborn. She was always well mannered and well
behaved, but she did have a mind of her own when she
wanted to.
She died suddenly of suspected bloat when she was
nearly 17 years old. I miss my old girl. |
| Date: |
11/2005 |
Pet name: |
Willow |
|
|
| In loving memory: |
Willow was a resuced cat that I brought home in March
2000. She had multiple personalities so friends
dubbed her Sybil. She could go from purr to full
attack mode in a heartbeat without warning. She was
an adventure to say the least. She loved climbing on
the garage, house, tree and kitchen table. She was a
good mouser and even caught a few birds even though
she was declawed. I have reason to believe that she
was poisoned by a jackass in the neighborhood. She
died suddenly at the age of 6 or so. |
