more about me:
What can I say? I'm a huge fan of the great outdoors and I've loved every minute of living in Colorado since moving out here in 2000. I like riding my mountain bike, road bike, dirt biking, hiking, generally anything outdoors and in any weather, but I can be convinced to come inside on occasion - nothing better than a day outside then hanging out by the fire with a hot cup of tea. I've got two dogs that are a huge part of my life - both are Border Collies. I live in a little town at the foot of the mountains, not too far from "civilisation" but far enough away for the peace and quiet that living in the hills affords.
About My Pet(s)
Pet(s):
dog
Name(s):
Caeli, Bodie (both border collies)
low down on my
pet(s):
Caeli, what a great dog with such a warm personality! She's black and white and about 11 now and still rambuncious as ever, she will play with you for hours and get get quite close to your heart. She has this cute thing she does with her eyes when she's watching more than one person, sort of like a chameleon, hard to explain but funny to watch. She is inseparable from her brother Bodie. Now, Bodie, there's a dog! A completely different personality from Caeli but a loveable lug if there ever was one! Caeli weighs in at about 37 lbs, Bodie more like 60, but he's a purebred border collie too just a little large for one. He picks on his older sister when they're outside but in a very playful way. Bodie will sit on the couch with you and rest his head on your shoulder. He's quite alert and crazy smart and what an athlete! Ridiculously fast and agile especially given his size. Both he and Caeli will play for hours. Both love snowshoeing, just about anything in the snow. Heck, they'll love being outside in any weather but when all is said and done there's nothing more relaxing than crashing in front of the fire with two spent, tired, happy pups. Both have personalities that won't quit, love being around children and if you can't already tell, I'm quite fond of my pups and we do almost everything together.
my pet(s) would
describe me as:
Hmmm, what can we say about Dad? He's firm but fair and he spoils us on occasion. He's really one of us, definitely the pack leader. We love him to death and can't wait for him to come home no matter how short the time apart. He's taken us out to play in all kinds of weather and will throw the ball or frisbee with us for hours, and he never seems to tire of it. We take long walks in the mountains behind our house, looking for streams and lakes to swim in. We get to ride in his truck to visit other members of our pack. We go just about anywhere with him.
About My Date

my ideal date:
I would like a woman with an open mind, honest, loving, communicative, who likes who she sees in the mirror, and occasionally prone to bouts of unabashed silliness (if you like Monty Python all the better). Someone who would like to be spoiled rotten every once in a while and someone who can just enjoy the moment.

Pet Heaven
Date:
6/6/2001
Pet name:
Zack
In loving memory:
Dear old Zack, actually he wasn't that old which is even sadder. He passed on at the tender age of 7 of an autoimmune disease. He was a fantastic companion, full of life and energy as are most Border Collies. He could do back flips, climb a tree like a cat and loved to swim. Boy, did he love to swim. Any path that ran along a river, he'd swim in the river as you walked the path. His sister Caeli, didn't quite get Zack's aquatic bent. She's swim, albeit reluctantly. If we'd be in a canoe, Zack would bail at the first sign of rough water and swim along with the canoe. Did I mention he like the water? God, I miss him. I think it was Will Rogers who said, "If there are no dogs in Heaven, I want to go where the dogs are". That about sums it up for me.
Date:
4/18/2003
Pet name:
Hobbes
In loving memory:
A great cat. I got him as a feral kitten, he must've been 5 weeks old. Man, was he mean! It took me two weeks before I could pet him without getting shredded. He never got over 7lbs but he ate like there was no tomorrow. The vet never found anything wrong with him, he was just a skinny cat. Hobbes was with me for over 16 years and he got lost during a move, my landlord let him out while I was at the other house 60 miles away. By the time I got back he had wandered off and I called and called to no avail. I went back to look for him when I could and my old neighbors occasionally got a glimpse of him but they couldn't catch him. I put out traps and the neighbors would check them but I think that was more for my conscience than anything, the area I lived in was rife with bear, coyote, mountain lion and such. I hope and pray that someone took him in and he's curled up somewhere by a roaring fire, content and with a full belly. Dear, sweet Hobbes, I miss you terribly.
