Despite my slightly rough, slightly gruff appearance, I
am a complete technophile and confirmed geek. I am
indeed the human incarnation of the M&M candy -
probably the peanut version. While naturally athletic
and a champion of outdoor activities, I love to cook
and prepare meals, and I'm perfectly content reading a
good book or watching a good movie with friends (or
with Emma).
I am a native Oregonian, but have lived up-and-down
the West Coast and in Hawaii (Maui, specifically). My
favorite town (other than Portland) is San Diego. I
lived in PB and MB for a few years and have often
thought of returning. And despite the fact that its
glory days of collegial fun are behind it, I still
love the former epicenter of American Track & Field...
Eugene.
I earned my MBA from a large university in Oregon (and
now for the obligatory, "Go Ducks!"). I graduated with
honors in finance & accounting for my bachelors
program.
Personally, I find nothing (almost...) more relaxing
and enjoyable than long rides on my Harley-Davidson -
rain or shine. For those who know or care, it's an
Electra Glide FLHTPI. No, it's *not* a big, bad,
outrageously loud Jesse James West Coast Chopper that
screams, "Look at me! I'm more poorly-endowed than
that Luke Duke wannabe with the mullet in the cherry
red '81 Corvette!" But, I must admit... at least the
guy with 'Vette and mullet actually has hair!
I am fortunate enough to finally have found a way to
combine my inner nerdiness with my outer
pseudo-biker-guy-ness. I love my work. I use my mind
and my hands on beautiful machines and new technology.
For better or for worse (depending on your
perspective...), I am now personally and
professionally immersed in all things related to
motorcycles. Prior to my current venture, most of my
professional career has involved technology and
marketing management in entrepreneurial companies. I
find the process of starting and growing companies to
be both exhilarating and fascinating. If you happen
to have an interesting / fun / unique start-up
company, drop me a line!
Currently, the main focus of my entrepreuneurial
efforts is my wholesale t-shirt business. I'm
planning a new line of rather tongue-in-cheek designs
for the Fall selling season.
Oh... and on the off-chance that it's not clear from
the rest of my DMP profile, I absolutely adore my
Emma!

The topic of divorce (ugh!) came up in a conversation
and I feel the need to share my thoughts on the
matter:
Divorce. Wow, what an ugly term that's turned out to
be; it seems to conjure up all sorts of sordid and
evil images for people. It's too bad, really.
I am, in fact, divorced. There. I said it. I'm
divorced. Why am I divorced? My former wife and I
finally came to the same conclusion that love isn't
always able to conquer all. We tried hard for seven
years, refusing to take the easy road when others
certainly would have. Fortunately, we parted on good
terms and are still friends. Aside from my irritation
related to being constantly pigeon-holed as a so-called
divorce', there is no baggage here, folks.
