Lifelong animal lover, new to Chicago area. Looking to meet friends, two feet or four (three with doctor's note) for recreational activities, coffee chats, movies, hanging around, making snarky remarks and staring at the clouds. I also confess to a certain degree of geekdom, in that I enjoy netchats and having email penpals and so that's welcome too. I've had dogs, mysteriously variable numbers of cats, anywhere from seven to nine parakeets, and once sold exotic birds for a while. No pets currently since I just moved. But I do try to feed the wild rabbit when I see him around.

Through the years I've had: a beagle, until he chased the Big Ball into the sky; cats with the expected number of toes, as well as a few selfish ones with six (and in one notorious case, seven) on a single limb; a couple of parakeets named after the stops on the Metro North New Haven line; and I try not to hurt spiders. Love snakes, though I've never owned one. Would like to one day.

Playful, kind, dastardly, nice-smelling, finds "The Simpsons" unnaccountably funny. Seems to think slight underfeeding is healthy, the sneaky bastard.

Looking to meet interesting, creative, cheerful, funny friends (yes, Virginia, I know the site's called DATE My Pet, and no, I'm not looking for hookups, so what am I doing here, well, seemed like a nice place to meet other animal lovers for friendship, fruity as that sounds all plain there like that, cough cough) who know life is short and will remind me, as I often forget when the NetFlix DVDs come. Values? Be nice. Morals? Be nice. Appearance? Well, I look like Al Pacino crossed with a rapidly-rotating, and possibly sharpened, ceiling fan. Where would I prefer friends to live? Frankly, New Zealand, so I can visit.

All sentient beings (except unbearably nasty huge flying horrible winged insects -- you know who you are, and you scare me) are welcome to apply. Extra credit for nice fur and little drooling. Also, if you must know: I would love to find a job working with animals, really, so if anyone knows of one, part- or full-time, I'd appreciate hearing about it. Plus we cat/dog/horse/snake/bird/house-sit, with actual -- get this -- references! I'm great with animals of all kinds, fearless where they're concerned, and my idea of a fun vacation is something like being on "Fear Factor" and lying in the lucite box full of snakes and refusing to ever come out. No lie.
