I'm generally pretty mellow and laid back. I'm kinda of a smart aleck and sometimes have a twisted, sarcastic and dark sense of humor. Some of which I picked up from when I used to volunteer (3+ years)in the ER at the local hospital. I am also very caring and generous to a fault. I try to be open-minded and respectful to all I meet, to give the benefit of doubt when wronged (the first time) and to move on when things don't work out instead of scheming to "get even". I'm quite independent and am used to being on my own. I have always had though, a few close friends that I can depend on instead of an address book of names that I can't even remember who they are. I like open spaces and open country, four-wheeling and exploring old ghost towns. Summer sunsets and the cool evening breeze on my face. I like being inside nice and cozy, cuddling with my favorites when winter's cold breath is blowing up a storm outside. I like pizza or a good burger and ice cold milk. Almost any kind of sandwich with mayo or peant butter- um, yum! I like tinkering on my truck or tractor or working on my property (I have five acres I'm getting ready to build a house on). Doing a good job at work gives me a feeling of satisfaction. Satisfying my need to make the world a little bit safer is done by the volunteer work I do for a rescue team. Mostly though, besides family, I Love my dog. As well as all those that came before. The age range listed is a generalization, not an exact criteria.

Tan is an older Doberman Pinsher, a wonderful, loving constant companion. Noble, mellow-like me and not like me- intelligent. After around eleven years she knows my various routines and different moods. She accepts me as I am and always seems to know when I need an extra hug or a lick on the face. She's a little bit independent too in that she accepts other people and will play with other dogs, but as soon as it's time to leave she doesn't want to stick around. Also, being an older dog, certin health issues are present which have ended some activities. No more runs or long walks. Chasing rabbits is still something to do but only for short distances. Basicly it's down to car rides and watching movies while munching on chewies- or anything else for that matter.

My pet daddy's so silly and melodramatic. He feeds me good and I know deep in my heart he would never ever do anything that harms me on purpose. So that's why I let him stick all those pills down my throat. Like that old "Eagles" song, he's been out riding fences too long and needs to come in. He needs someone he can trust and cares for him like he does me and will you too. My pet doctor says I don't have a long time left and it would make me feel good to see someone make him happy.

I'm attracted to the "girl next door" type. She would be mellow, nice looking- doesn't have to be fancy, in reasonable shape and down to earth. A good heart, some independence and love for animals are a must. Going for walks or jogging with our pet kids is something I would like to share. Traveling by RV and camping is something I've always considered to be a wholesome family activity. Hopefully you will too. If you have one or two human children, that's fine with me.

I get along with all dogs but it would be better with the bigger ones than the little ones. I like easy playing and exploring. Please don't be a constant barker as I find that a turnoff.
