I'm an animal-lover seeking the same for anything from activity partner to long-term relationship. I am a former TV Reporter & Anchor who now works in the animal non-profit world. I'm a down-to-earth kinda guy, intelligent, well-travelled, with a good (albeit sometimes offbeat) sense of humor.

All my companion animals are rescues: Chance is an 8yo Boxer/Shepherd/mystery mix, rescued from the side of a highway near Fresno, California as a 4-5mo old puppy. He was nothing but skin & bones, eating rocks & dirt, and had mange over half his body. The vet said he was probably a day or 2 from death. About 6 months later, he was hit by a car and nearly died; but $15,000 later, he's is perfect health, although now a tripod dog. His medical history takes awhile, so I'll wait until we meet for that! Kisa-Kitty was rescued as a small kitten in Sacramento early December 2003 near the Animal Protection Institute, where I worked. She threw herself in front of my car, where she stayed until I scooped her up and into the car. In her kitten months, she was more like a dog than a cat, enjoying meeting everybody & liking car rides (picture "Toonces the Cat" + a dog with it's head out the window with tongue flapping in the wind). Once she grew older, she started NOT liking driving & craving independence, although since we've moved cross-country a couple times, she's acting more like a dog again (coming when called, going for walks with the dogs).

The coolest dad ever. You'd be hard-pressed to finder a bigger animal lover anywhere, and to find other dogs & cats that have a better life than us!

Animal-lover is the most important thing for me. Other traits I seek: compassionate; passionate; genuine; low-maintenance; attractive [not supermodel, but h/w proportionate at least with a nice face..more 'girl-next-door type, as I'm more of a 'boy-next-door type; intelligent; good sense of humor..you know--the standard fare...

Chance: someone with whom I can play with, and who can understand me if I get a little rough sometimes and won't get mad; I sometimes get scared and if I play a little rough and you nip at me or act mean, I may think you're picking on me and feel like I need to get defensive. Kisa: I really haven't been around cats so I'm not sure what I'm looking for--obviously someone who's not going to be mean! I can deal with dogs, but they shouldn't try to rough-house with me..or they'll get swatted!
