I asked some friends how they would describe me, and
funny, laid back, open-minded, and a "hoot" were all
mentioned more than once. (I think hoot is a mountain
term or something) I've spent the vast majority of my
adult life in college, and consequently I look and act
about ten years younger than my chronological age. And,
yes, I got a few degrees out of all that schooling,
including one that's actually useful. Things I like
include the mountains, bluegrass and jam band music,
animals, NPR, sushi, camping, fireflies, rum & coke,
canoeing and kayaking rivers, thunderstorms,
snowboarding and tubing, British humor, bonfires,
Carolina Tar Heels basketball, and playing golf. It
seems that someone who enjoys some, most, or all of
this stuff might be a good match. Things that I would
consider important in another person include: a love
of animals (especially dogs), sense of humor,
enjoyment of live music, and being a decent person.
I'm a veterinarian by day, and a bit of a bluegrass
and jamband junkie by night.
