| more about me: |
I'm domesticated, current on all my shots,a pretty good
cook, and great with a Swiffer! I'll be quick to
admit that while I can't change the oil in your car, I
can rescue your cat if it ever falls behind the washer
or dryer or gets stuck up in a tree. I'm an Animal
Control Officer. I often get dirty and scratched, but
it gives me character I think. Helps put things into
perspective..."at least he didn't pee on me". And if
you happen to choke or pass out on our first date, I'm
certified in CPR / AED. I'm not an adrenaline junkie
needing to sky-dive, bungee-jump, or ride a bull, but
did take motorcycle lessons(which ended with me
getting a ride to the emergency room). My friends and
family describe me as very social, intelligent (I have
a library card), adventurous (I have a
passport),friendly(I smile a lot), and fun to be
with--except when I'm losing at Scrabble. Competitive
by nature, I love board and trivia games, and once won
a green-goo body wrap massage on a cruise. I passed on
the massage. I'm not used to hot, strange Swedish women
rubbing green slime all over me. I'm told I have a
great sense of humor and that I'm sarcastic and witty
in that "Mystery Science Theater" kind of way. I
definitely possess the better qualities of being a
Scorpio, i.e. passion, confidence, loyalty, and
looking good in black clothes. I sometimes bring my
work home with me, but only in the form of kittens,
baby squirrels, or other young wildlife. Somehow, my
apartment keeps getting smaller and smaller. And my
leather sofa doubles as a scratching post. I've also
added "bottle-feeding newborn kittens" to my resume.
When not in uniform, I'm comfortable dressed down in
jeans and a t-shirt or up in a suit and tie. My
friends say I clean up well. Accused of being a
perfectionist and a neat freak, I've learned to accept
that it's OK to have some disorder in my life (so long
as my CDs and DVDs are in alphabetical order). I
consider myself a pretty good catch overall and am
worth getting to know. I don't lie, cheat, steal, or
leave the toilet seat up. I also make my bed everyday.
OK, that last part was a lie. I enjoy live music
(Wolftrap, Birchmere), the stores and restaurants in
Bethesda, Shirlington, Del Ray, and Old Town
Alexandria. I get my exotic good looks from my
Vietnamese mother and Pennsylvania-born father. With
the Asian and German influences, the food's always
good and the accents always funny. I get my patience
from my mom, and the honking at bad drivers from my
dad. Some of my favorite things: my pets (of course),
my bed, the Bourne movies, mint chocolate-chip ice
cream, girls wearing black pants, college football
(Penn State), historic places, book stores, 80's and
classical music, Christmas, and Midge Ure. My
favorite season is Fall, it's very sensual. I enjoy a
variety of activities, am willing to try new things,
and can have fun in any situation so long as I'm with
the right person and it doesn't involve heights or
green vegetables. Having said all that, I still can't
sing, dance, or drive a stick-shift---"I like to watch"
is my motto.

About My Pet(s) |
| |
| Pet(s): |
|
| Name(s): |
Zoe, Hampton, Harley, Molly, Emily |
| low down on my pet(s): |
All my pets are rescued, i.e., either adopted from a
rescue group or found while "on the job" and raised by
me.....ZOE, AKA "the brave one", is a black/tan German
Shepherd. Her hobbies include chasing squirrels,
sleeping, and herding all the cats. She enjoys car
rides, long walks, Greenies, and cat food. She also
likes to bark at the other dogs to let them know she's
the boss. She also has no problem barking at humans,
but once she gets to meet them, she's fine. A few
good sniffs here and there and everything's fine....
HAMPTON, AKA "the mellow one", is a tuxedo cat. His
hobbies include sleeping and watching the world go by.
He enjoys cat treats, canned food, licking plastic
bags, and licking the milk out of the cereal bowl when
you're not looking. He has big eyes, and contrary to
popular belief, he is NOT part owl.
HARLEY, AKA "the smart one", is a black and white
bandit cat. His hobbies include opening up cabinets,
exploring closets, and sleeping. He enjoys his dental
treats, opening bags and presents, and picking on Zoe.
MOLLY, AKA "the shy one", is a tuxedo cat. Her hobbies
include eating, sleeping, and exploring closets with
Harley. She enjoys quiet hiding spaces, cuddling up to
Zoe, and real meat. She will steal your chicken or
meatballs when you're not looking.
EMILY, AKA "the affectionate one", is a Siamese-Lynx
point mix. Her hobbies include eating (dog or cat
food), sleeping, running around in circles, catching
toy mice, and unrolling the toilet paper off the roll.
She enjoys sleeping under the covers with dad and likes
to lick his face and bite his chin in the morning. |
| my pet(s) would describe me as: |
Zoe says: My dad rescued me when my last family was
going through a divorce. They needed me out of the
house so they can sell it and I was told I was going
back to the animal shelter. I was really afraid, and
then one day I went for a ride and met my new dad; he
took me two days later and I've been with him ever
since! He takes very good care of me; he lets me
sleep on his bed, he takes me for runs and drives, and
he never gets mad at me for getting hair everywhere or
eating all the cat food.
Hampton says: When my mom and dad divorced, I was sad
because Zoe went to live with dad. One day I got upset
and dug up some of mom's plants and pooped on her bed,
so she told dad to take me---my trick worked! He
picked me up the next day and I've been happier ever
since! He feeds me my favorite food, but sometimes I
have to bite on his ankles first. Harley says: I
don't remember much about my life except that when I
was a kitten I spent a lot of time in an emergency
room because I had a blood disorder. No one wanted
me, and one day my foster mom took me to meet Zoe and
Hampton. Hampton whacked me a few times while
playing, and Zoe picked me up by my scruff and cleaned
me. I fit right in. Molly says: One night when I was a
kitten, I went into a cat trap because I was hungry
and was caught! Then dad came to get me because he was
working and he had to take me to the shelter. I
remember him telling me "don't worry, I'll save you".
I was scared and hid in my litter box and then I got
sick. Then one day, I was sent to a room to be put to
sleep and that's when dad came in (on his day off) and
took me home. He gave me medicine and good food, and
now I'm happy and healthy, and I get to play with my
brothers and new sister. I'm still shy and will run
and hide if I hear a loud noise, but I feel safe with
all my pet brothers and sisters. Emily says: I was
just a few days old when I was found; I don't remember
much except I had to be kept warm and bottle-fed all
the time. I must have kept dad up all night! Now I'm
happy and healthy and have fun all day! I'm really
lucky because I was raised by a caring dad and a dog
and other cats.
They all say: We know our dad's a special person; he
goes out of his way to help the animals, whether he's
working or not. He went into a burning house, a sewer,
and climbed a high tree (he's afraid of heights). He
works hard to rescue all animals, and sometimes he
comes home with scratches, bites, cuts, and sometimes
stinks, but we always kiss him and make him feel
better. We hope our dad meets a nice human soon! |

About My Date |
| |
|
I am a man seeking a
woman age
30 to
39 |
| for: |
activity partner |
marriage |
relationship |
romance |
travel partner |
|
|
| my ideal date: |
Intelligent, loyal, devoted, affectionate, likes to
give kisses, enjoys long walks, and brown eyes.
OK--enough about my dog! While I'm not looking to
date a German Shepherd, those are some of the
qualities I do desire in my ideal 2-legged date (minus
the big ears). I don't have a particular "type", but
while dark eyes and dark hair certainly catch my eye,
a great personality and sense of humor keeps my
attention. I find glasses very appealing! I'm looking
for a good girl to enjoy the simple things with;
whether it be going to the dog park or bookstore,
exploring local attractions, or enjoying a movie and
dinner out or at home. More importantly, a girl with a
good head on her shoulders, knows what she wants, and
isn't into playing games (unless it's the friendly
board kind, in which case I'll probably win). I value
time with my friends and family and enjoy being an
uncle (their favorite) to my nephews and nieces. I
don't work the conventional 9-5 M-F, so I would like
to meet someone who enjoys spending quality off-time
together. Good grammar, a like of animals (no problem
on this site), children, and hair longer than mine are
always appreciated qualities. |

About My Pet's Date |
| |
| My pet(s) is seeking a: |
|
| for: |
hanging out in the park/beach |
indoor fun |
long walks |
outdoor fun |
pet sitting exchange |
treat and a conversation |
walking buddy |
|
|
| my pet's ideal date: |
Zoe says: What can I say? I'm a dominant female who
knows what she wants! I get along best with dogs my
size or larger, but so far I'm not that comfortable
with smaller dogs; they look like toys or food items
to me. I am working on that, and am learning how to
walk and play with small dogs.
Hampton, Harley, Molly and Emily says: we like dogs,
so long as they like cats and won't try to eat us. We
like to chase their tails and we like other cats, too. |
