OK, OK! I did promise to update this section. Though, I still think Harley's description and the 'Ideal Date' section sum everything up pretty well. And now I'm updating the photos, because a number of women have now told me the ones I put up didn't do me justice at all!! I'm 48 and separated, no kids, living in Oakville. I'm quite comfortable with myself at this point in my life, and am looking to enjoy things from here on out. Like most people I have a really eclectic list of things I enjoy, some of which are completely contradictory!! I enjoy dinner at home (I'm a pretty good cook and love entertaining), or dinner out. I like city life, theatre, live music, walking in the city; and I love going to my cottage. I enjoy travelling, reading, watching TV, and going for long dog walks! I am a romantic at heart, and love having someone special to lavish attention on (other than the dog!) To satisfy my spiritual side, I volunteer at the Humane Society (anywhere else but this site, that would probably label me as some kind of weirdo, I'm sure!!!) Professionally I'm self-employed, have started a number of companies, and currently provide consulting services to a few select clients. I think my best attributes are that I have a great sense of humour, and really enjoy life. Now for what I am looking for. Pretty much like anyone else, I want to find someone where sparks fly between us...where neither of us can wait to be with the other again. It's a pretty tall order to fill, so until that happens, I'm looking for some interesting friends for dating and friendship. At least through this site, we know we start out with one thing in common, and really the only criteria that are important to me are, to be a dog person, and, for self-preservation, you better have a pretty good sense of humour (slightly warped may even be better!!) Ya gotta be able to laugh at yourself, and the world (and apparently ya can't be too strict on grammatical correctness ;) )

Harley looks like a Sheltie sized Karellian Bear Dog, so that's what I assume he is. Lots of energy, so I had to start getting him involved in more and more training, leading to agility training and competition, which is a really fun way to spend time with your dog, and other dog people! Harley's now gone to live with my ex, so I've adopted Midnight, a border collie/shepherd cross, from the humane society. She's 8 yrs old, has some separation anxiety issues (who wouldn't after being abandoned!!) but she learns very quickly, so we'll probably try some kind of sports this spring: either veterans agility, or maybe rally-o.

My dad's always up to take me for a walk or to the dog park, no matter what the weather's like. He seems to be able to throw a stick in the water for hours at a time, and I always have to go out and get it! Oh yeah, he seems to like to laugh a lot too.

My ideal date is the one we walk away from thinking that was the best one ever. One that involves some fun and then some good conversation where we learn more about each other. So how about this, some quality dog park time, then a great dinner, either out or at home, some wine, rounded out with some dancing. Not sure if that's all possible in one date, but it's worth a shot. Ultimately I'm looking for a long term relationship and marriage, but until I find the right person, I must admit that I'm enjoying dating again. As far as the attributes I am looking for, the field is pretty wide open. Probably the only hard and fast rules for me are to be a dog person, and be able to laugh at yourself and the world.
